Mr ‘X’ has three children. The birthday of the first child falls on the 5th Monday of April, that of the second one falls on the 5th Thursday of November. On which day is the birthday of his third child, which falls on 20th December?

The 5th Monday of April will fall on either the 29th or the 30th. Similarly, the 5th Thursday of November will fall on either the 29th or 30th.

When April 29th is a Monday, the number of days between April 29th and November 29th is 214 days, or 30 weeks and 4 days. Therefore, November 29th will be a Friday. However, since November 29th is a Thursday, it follows that April 30th must have been a Monday.

The number of days between November 29th and December 20th is 21 days or 3 weeks. Hence, December 20th will be a Thursday.
