Select an option to attempt

Explanation

Statement 1 is insufficient. Statement 1 tells us that R>PR > P and R>QR > Q, but it does not provide any information about the relative sizes of PP, QQ, or SS in comparison to each other, nor does it mention whether RR is the largest number. Therefore, Statement 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statement 2 is insufficient. Statement 2 tells us that SS is not the largest number, but it does not provide any information about how RR, PP, or QQ compare to each other, nor does it specify which number is the largest. Therefore, Statement 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statements 1 and 2 together: Sufficient. When combined, Statement 1 tells us that R>PR > P and R>QR > Q, and Statement 2 tells us that SS is not the largest number. Together, these two statements allow us to conclude that RR is greater than PP, QQ, and SS. Hence, R>P/Q/SR > P/Q/S.

Thus, Statements 1 and 2 together are sufficient to answer the question, but neither Statement 1 nor Statement 2 alone is sufficient.
