Select an option to attempt

Explanation

According to Statement 1, each page has 0, 1, or 2 figures, and there are 51 pages in the book. Thus, the maximum possible number of images in the book is 51×2=10251 \times 2 = 102, and the minimum possible is 0. Therefore, Statement 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

According to Statement 2, each page has 1, 2, 3, or more images, but the total number of pages in the book is unknown. So, Statement 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

When both statements are combined, we know there are 51 pages in the book, and each page must have either 1 or 2 images. Thus, the maximum possible number of images is 51×2=10251 \times 2 = 102, and the minimum possible is 51×1=5151 \times 1 = 51. However, we still cannot determine whether there are more than 100 figures in the book. Therefore, even with both statements together, we cannot answer the question.
