Select an option to attempt

Explanation

Speed of policeman = 10 km/hr Speed of thief = 8 km/hr Relative speed = 108=210 - 8 = 2 km/hr

Convert relative speed to meters per second: 2 km/hr = 2×10003600\frac{2 \times 1000}{3600} m/s = 59\frac{5}{9} m/s

Distance between them = 100 meters Time = Distance / Relative speed = 100/(59)=100×(95)=180100 / (\frac{5}{9}) = 100 \times (\frac{9}{5}) = 180 seconds = 3 minutes
