SOCIAL SECURITY FOR UNORGANISED WORKERS THROUGH E-SHRAM PORTAL
e-Shram portal registers over 31.78 crore unorganised workers, integrating 15 social security schemes as a 'One-Stop-Solution' for comprehensive welfare.
The e-Shram portal was launched on August 26, 2021, by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Its primary objective is to create a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW), including gig and platform workers.
As of July 14, 2026, over 31.78 crore unorganised workers have registered on the portal, receiving a Universal Account Number (UAN).
eShram–“One-Stop-Solution” was launched on October 21, 2024, integrating 15 social security schemes for direct access.
Microsites for State/UTs were introduced on January 29, 2025, to tailor e-Shram services to local needs and simplify worker registration.
