Four Labour Codes namely, The Code on Wages, 2019, The Code on Social Security, 2020, The Industrial Relations Code, 2020, and The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 have been made effective.
The codes guarantee minimum and timely wages, mandatory appointment letters, and equal opportunities for all, including women workers.
Social Security is guaranteed for 40 crore workers, along with gratuity for Fixed Term Employees after 1 year of service.
Mandatory free annual health check-ups and 100% health security for workers in hazardous sectors are included.
