Detailed Insights:
The UDAN Scheme, launched in October 2016, has operationalized 669 routes and 95 airports, heliports, and water aerodromes, serving over 1.66 crore passengers.
The Modified UDAN Scheme aims to expand regional aviation infrastructure by developing 100 aerodromes from existing unserved airstrips with an investment of Rs 12,159 crore.
It allocates Rs 2,877 crore for Operations and Maintenance support for regional airports and Rs 3,661 crore for the development of 200 modern helipads.
Viability Gap Funding of Rs 10,043 crore is provided to sustain regional airline operations under the scheme.
The scheme also promotes the induction of indigenous aircraft and helicopters, including HAL Dhruv and Dornier platforms, for operations in underserved regions.
The Jodhpur Airport New Terminal Building is spread across 23,342 square meters and is designed to handle 1,500 passengers during peak hours and 20 lakh passengers annually.
It features 20 check-in counters, advanced security screening systems, modern baggage handling facilities, and six aerobridges.
The new terminal incorporates sustainable features such as energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures, and green building practices, aiming for a 5-Star GRIHA rating.
Its architecture reflects Rajasthan's royal heritage, blending traditional elements like arches and jharokhas with contemporary design.
