The NIA has taken over the ricin terror plot investigation from the Gujarat ATS.
Traces of ricin were found in material seized from a Hyderabad-based lab run by the prime accused Dr. Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed.
The Gujarat ATS arrested Dr. Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, Azad Suleman Sheikh, and Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem Khan on November 8 last year.
The accused are booked under the UAPA, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Arms Act.

The Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the transfer of the case to the NIA earlier this week.
Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem Khan are accused of receiving weapons from Pakistan.
Suspects allegedly reconnoitered the RSS office in Lucknow, the Azadpur vegetable mandi in Delhi, and the Naroda fruit market in Ahmedabad as potential terror attack sites.
The ATS recovered two Glock pistols, one Beretta pistol, 30 live cartridges, and four liters of castor oil from Dr. Saiyed.
A "black flag" and literature on evading detection were recovered from the home of Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem Khan in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.
